With over thirty years designing, driving and implementing cellular technologies, in particular GSM, UMTS [TDD and FDD] and LTE [TDD and FDD], Renesas Mobile possesses an in-depth know-how reflected at the heart of our cellular modems and their leading performance. Few companies have the depth of experience that Renesas Mobile has in developing, testing and deploying efficient and high performance multi-RAT modems.
Our multi-mode GSM/UMTS/LTE modems:
- Provide advanced interworking mechanisms between all modes to allow seamless switching between modes, autonomously and network-controlled.
- Ensure service continuity for both voice and data services when switching from one mode to another1. This includes switching from a packet-switched voice in LTE or HSPA to a circuit-switched voice in GSM or UMTS, with preservation of other ongoing data services.
- Support global roaming and regional discrepancies, through appropriate band support: a basic set of “World” bands and flexible regional bands when necessary.
- Support regulatory mechanisms across all modes such as emergency warning notifications, emergency calls.
